About	Doon Village is situated on the N62 that cuts through the bogalnds of County Offaly about 20 kilometres from Athlone. Here you will find the ruins of a medieval castle that appears to have little or no documentary evidence about its history. It is in very poor condition and is more of an eyesore than an amenity to the village. Doon has a pretty museum with a collection of cars and farm machinery.
