About The Slieve Bloom Mountains are one of the understated treasures of Ireland.

They rise in a gentle elevation to rolling hills emanating from the great central plains and bog lands of Ireland.

They form a natural link between the counties of Laois and Offaly and Tipperary to the south.

They are at the crossroads of Ireland, halfway between Galway and Dublin, Belfast and Cork, and Donegal and Rosslare.

Conveniently reached from any entry point into Ireland they provide wonderful walking and hiking opportunities.

At their peaks, they provide stunning views of the south and midlands of the country and as many as ten counties are reputed to be visible on a clear day.

The Slieve Bloom Mountains are an environmentally protected area and the broad cross-section of nature present there reflects the wisdom of such measures.

There are plenty of sign-posted walks, explanatory boards regarding wildlife and flora and fauna, and designated picnic areas throughout the foothills and at higher elevations.
