Creevykeel Court Tomb is located about 2 kilometres off the main Sligo- Donegal road, north of Cliffoney and is one of the most important ancient burial sites in Ireland.
It is one of the best examples of a court tomb in Ireland.
It consists of a long trapeze-shaped cairn enclosing an oval court and burial chamber of two compartments.
These monuments have been dated to circa 4000 BC.
The remains of three single chambered subsidiary tombs are present in the western end of the monument are possibly contemporary with the main structure, the cairn measures 55m in length and 25m wide at the eastern end, where the entrance to the court is located.
