To the east of Sligo Town, lies the beautiful Lough Gill.

A great viewing point for the lake is a place known as the Dooney Rock.

From the top of Dooney Rock one can view beautiful Lough Gill in its entirety! Dooney is a townland that touches the borders Leitrim aling the shores of Lough Gill.

Dooney Rock has of course, been made famous by W. B. Yeats in his poem: 'The Fiddler of Dooney'.

Nearby to Dooney Rock is Tobernault Well; this is a sacred grove on a wooded hillside, a perfect blend of natural and Christian magic.
